All the letters in the world—infinite Scrabble

blocks begging to be arranged into poetry. Still, I fall mute—

cannot claw my way out of igneous overwhelm to

distil the lustrous

essence of a glinting tiger’s eye: the enigma of you.

Forgive me, my love—I wished to

give you more than this.

Here—in the meantime, take this

instead:

joy to bring the sweetness of summer’s first cherries to your days;

kisses to add lashings of hot Sriracha to your nights.

Love, love and even

more love. Sprinkle on that parmesan of love. Too much will

never be enough.

Oh, my darling—let me love you to life:

profusely and passionately, without

question or qualm.

Reach into my constellations—hidden galaxies I keep

secret, safe, shatter-proof inside my

triple-bolted heart. I will show you a

universe

vibrant as a new dawn, fresh

with the promise of possibility.

xoxo

Yours always, from here to eternity, from A to

Z

I thought this was absolutely stunning. I really thought your line “oh my darling, let me love you to life” was outstanding.

This flows and feels strongly, and the sincerity comes through the lines. “secret, safe, shatter-proof inside my triple-bolted heart” is favourite line I think. Nice!

Wonderful abecedarian. In fact, I didn't even know it was until I got to the end. These lines "cannot claw my way out of igneous overwhelm to/distil the lustrous/essence of a glinting tiger’s eye" - I love them. So rich with imagery.

AWWW! I love the idea that the love is too complex to put into words, so instead you describe that complexity

"Reach into my constellations"😭 this is what I consider classic romantic poetry. I'm just... speechless and overwhelmed with emotion.
