I Still Remember You

Remnants of Love

The contours of your face torment my mind

A palinopsia, sketched from times of love

When eye to eye our fiery bodies clawed

like tigers playing games in distant groves.

Old scars you carved in passion, still remain

Caressed by newest love, I now betroth

While cravings for your lust may never fade

A sweeter love has saved me from your wrath.

Your muse for me has all but disappeared

Dissolved by lovers new, like sugared tea

But still, I get the feeling you are here

My guilty secret. Timeless. Just for me.

No mortal can stop the power of first love

As Eros looks down from Elysium.
