I Still Love You

A Poem

By Lorelai BreedlovePublished 4 years ago 1 min read

You seem different now

I don't even feel like I know you

I just wonder how

You can change so fast

When it feels like yesterday

We were playing football after school

I remember when we met

How shy we both were

Then we met and it just clicked

I miss looking forward to seeing you

But now I can barely think good things about you

When before you were my best friend

I always watched you

And when you ran off to play with your brother

I got jealous

I never had anyone

And you were my older brother

In my eyes

That's when you left

You ran off with them

You changed

And I saw it

Even when you didn't

You didn't want to talk to me

I still trusted you though

I didn't want to give up on you

But when I saw what you did

It was really hard

But I prayed harder

And finally you ran away

That was it

Those were the moments I knew

I knew I had to let go

I still prayed

But I knew there was no way I could show you

I still tried

The more I tried the farther you ran

You were everything to me

And I tried to be everything for you

But you didn't want me

So all are time was wasted

But I still love you

I'll never stop

About the Creator

Lorelai Breedlove

I started writing when I was 10 and I never stopped. I started because I felt it was a great way to express yourself and not have to say it to anyone. I've never been one to tell people what I'm thinking, so writing was a good for me. :)
