i smell snow

it's on the horizon

where blooms grow

out under the sky

and the frost clings

like a hug that's forgotten

and the wind blows

a tender lullaby

i smell snow

and it peeks my imagination

the soft glow

illuminating the sky

nature knows

and prepares for saturation

the silent communication

from up above

to earth below

i smell snow

as my breath floats all around me

a halo

like the angels like to wear

that old crow

such a contrast to the frost

seemingly he's gotten lost

in this wonderland below

i smell snow

it's become invigorating

my heart grows

like the grinch

on christmas eve

on my nose

there is a hint of condensation

the frost and dirt

a(n ice) flirtation

without breathing a single word

Delightful and thank you for sharing the smell of snow. It does smell fresh, clean, and it is cold. outstanding

This is such a beautifully atmospheric piece. I've never seen snow before, but I could feel the chill and imagine the quiet magic that arrives before snowfall.

Great job, I would really like to smell that scent again. What memories your poem brings back.
