I See

For as long as I can remember,

I've been hiding away,

In clouds of gray,

Afraid to say,

That I'm here to play.

As I open my eyes to the pain that surrounds me, 

I see the color of hope guiding me free.

It's as breathtaking as a golden sunset,

On a glistening blue ocean.

It's as breathtaking as a silvery fullmoon,

On a midnight blue sky.

For as long as I can remember,

I've been staying clear,

Of sunny life here,

Just out of fear,

So you won't come near. 

As I open my eyes to the world that can be,

I see the colors of change before me.

It's as breathtaking as a radiant sunrise, 

On a lush green pasture.

It's as breathtaking as a dazzling smile, 

On a face such as yours.

As I open my eyes to the colorful fabric, 

I see the whole as beautiful magic. 

It's as breathtaking as you are,

On a day like today.

Don't you dare hide your colors away,

For the fabric of time,

Needs yours just as much as mine.

Breathe it in and let yourself shine.
