I remember talking of life and love
A poem of my memory of having a stroke.

I remember talking of life and love
nothing special, nothing new
before the world tipped
no panic no life flashing before my eyes
nothing special nothing new
but I cant move my hand
if someone would just touch it
I'll remember how to move it
but I cant move my hand
nursery rhymes and planning holidays
the conversations not quite flowing
Something isn't right
Nursery rhymes and planning holidays
stopped short by cries from my Mum
a calming hug from my Dad
But I still can't move my hand
Stopped short by cries from my Mum
A flash of sky before bright lights
just a sharp scratch
the scenes chop and change around me
A flash of sky before bright lights
I still cant move my hand
There was no panic no life flash before my eyes
the world had plans for me
I still cant move my hand
Until I scratch my nose
a doctor tells me I had a stroke but
I remember talking of life and love
