I remember

I remember like it was yesterday,

The way the sun shone on that day,

The sky was bright and oh so blue,

And I felt alive, like I always knew.

I remember the way the birdssang,

The sweet melodies, a perfect pang,

Of joy and hope that filled my heart,

A feeling that could never depart.

I remember the way the wind did blow,

The gentle breeze, a soothing flow,

It whispered secrets in my ear,

And made me feel like I had no fear.

I remember the way the trees did sway,

Their branches dancing in the sun's rays,

A symphony of nature all around,

A peace and tranquility that I had found.

I remember the way my heart did beat,

With excitement and a sense of complete,

The world was mine, and I was free,

To be whoever I wanted to be.

I may not remember every detail,

But the feeling of that day will never fail,

To fill me with a sense of joy and peace,

And make my worries and troubles cease.

For in that moment, I knew the truth,

To love, to laugh, to give and forgive.
