I Refuse To Move
My bed calls to me
Here I lay,
In an old home
That was once mine
But boy have I moved
Too many times
To ever call one place home.
I return
To rest my head
On a familiar bed
One that gave me respite
In many hard days before.
Ever since I got here,
I've only moved out of necessity
I've rested
I've aimlessly scrolled social media
I've planned my things to do
I've even read so many lovely poems
But I've not moved from the bed
And will not
Unless I absolutely have to
Because here I am
Getting exactly what I need
Rest. Relaxation.
Recovery
From my exhausted times
Exhausted body
Exhausted mind.
Goodnight.

That's so heartfelt.
Well-wrought! We must all take refuge with our pillows from time to time!
I know this is about exhaustion, but there is something so healthy about it too - like, "yes, I am exhausted, so I will rest."
You put the need to rest from a long days of work in such a captivating relatable way that I am sure youβve read our minds and took the words from our lips before we could ever attempt to describe. This poem was right on time, everybody needs this and everybody should read it.
