I reach for you, though silence fills the air;

Your shadow disappears into an endless night.

Desire consumes me nightly, I am in grief's snare.

Each room recalls the ghost that isn't there;

The world moves on, but this doesn't feel right.

These nights so cruel, does your spirit still stare?

I reach for you, though silence fills the air;

In my mind, your heart beats strong with might

I continue to reach, knowing you're not there.

Obsession controls me, held in despair;

This grief I hold robs me of sight.

Again, I reach... this life is unfair.

The heart carries on with love and care;

See the widow, what sorrowful sight

My bed, so empty, so cold, so bare.

Continue to endure this pain, I could swear.

Your memory still fuels my plight.

I reach for you, though silence fills the air,

Desire consumes me, I am in grief's snare.
