Don't forget to smile.

Put it on.

Grey skies will clear up,

don't go out until you

Put on a happy face.

No one wants to see your tears,

put on a happy face.

So sad your love has gone,

but the time has come

for you to move on.

Before you think to rise at dawn,

make sure you have your make up on

Oh! how your grief makes others squirm,

surely you see them stop and stare?

as if your pain's a breach of norm.

You are not the center of this world

think of their feelings,

If you truly care.

So before you come you out,

wearing those sad, moody blues,

think of others that have to be around you

and put on a happy face.

Woe is you to have to keep moving,

you are still here, so get to grooving.

Expectations, two years, no longer,

time to dry those tears and be stronger.

A new day is here,

time to go out.

You can scream, fight and shout

Pick a mask,

Pick a face,

smile until it leaves no trace.

And when the world applauds your strength,

no one will know what lies beneath

the hurt you hide,

the silent grief.
