I Never Heard the Flowers Cry

Until I did

Solemnly the roses wept, when

I mirrored their crimson hue.

Low, the bonnets held their heads,

each shedding tears of blue.

Never I heard the pansies cry, as they landed on the floor. Until the ivy

creeping softly, led me through the door.

Each moment henceforth triumphed in the tiger lilies’ roar.
