I Need a Rainbow

by Cleve

Red bespeaks of anger

Green of jealousy

Black of melancholy

The dark of despondency

Blue reeks of nights alone

Of sadness of loved ones gone

Yellow denotes cowardness

Unwillingness to face truth alone

Me, I need a rainbow!

Life is a myriad of color

Prophesy of things to come

A view of tomorrow

A eulogy of days bygone

White the brightness of hope

Muted to reflect reality

With the orange and reds of autumn

Promising better things to be

Wrap yourself in colors

They help mold all you can be

Put hope and pride on your palette

See what optimistic artists see

Me, God gave me a rainbow.
