I Met a Man Under the Moon
"It was like He was waiting for me..."

I met a Man under the moon
It was like He was waiting for me,
A Scythe in hand- a White Lily too
Held out so I could see
And as He took my hand-with much Velocity
We stroll through the streets,
Evanescent silhouettes passing around us,
But still we kept going
We passed children, playing all around
The world grasped them-
Their youthful laughter filled the streets,
Until the sun went down
A fire shone ahead of us, but still we went on
The fierce fire flickering with the wind-
His repugnant robe rustled,
My fitting frock blew too,
And as we got closer
The fire seized to shine-
Flickering ever so slightly-
The flame- no longer shines
Coldness soon followed- forever- but yet
The night turned back to day-
Lightness followed slowly behind,
But I will remember him for eternity
