I'm Not Allowed Out

But You Won't Stop Me

I'm not allowed out,

That is what they tell me,

Singled out,

Because I'm married to a man!

But;

I won't conform to your tradition,

I was born to love who I love,

And I have made that my mission,

I'm a female of many colours,

I have a heart that likes to shine,

And shine it will,

In this biased world,

Where love only works in twos,

Yes;

I am deeply committed,

But that doesn't mean I can change who I am,

My love wasn't made to remain in the closet,

My heart is big enough to go around,

"But what about sexual attraction?"

They all ask,

Well, here is a fact nobody dare accept,

Sexual attraction can happen whether you are married

or not,

Fruit doesn't taste all the same,

We all taste the rainbow, whether sweet

or sour,

And it's not selfish to feel attraction in all its power,

We are all human,

And we are all animals,

I'm not allowed out,

I will deny it,

I will not allow myself to conform to a black

and white margin;

You say,

I'm not allowed out,

But you won't stop me from

coming out.
