I'm important too
A poem about cheating and wanting to be important in a relationship

What does he give you that I don't
Is what you used to ask
When you would catch me
And I never could quite tell you what
They gave me attention.
While you stared at your phone
or shrug me off
They were there.
When I'd beg you to listen
They were there
While I begged for you to even look at me
They were there.
They were there when you said
That I was crazy
Everything was in my head
When you believed everyone else.
They had my back.
They listened
They cared.
When all you ever cared about
Was your damn phone.
And I get it
You're stressed
You have things to think about
Like our girls.
But what about me
I suffered for years by myself
And you told me I was crazy
And to go away.
I don't even know why I stay anymore
I just wish I was your phone
Then I'd be important too
