I'm Guilty

A Poem and Song

By kadee gracePublished 7 years ago 1 min read
If there's sin in loving you ….

I'm Guilty

Sweetheart, what can I say

that I haven't said before

it seems to move in circles

trying to get through your door

It was so rough from the very start

it seems we never really stood a chance

our lives so filled with the work that we do

never giving each another glance

I'm guilty; it's true

but what of, we disagree

if there's sin in loving you

then yes, you can blame me

To you; I've given my everything

the sad part, you don't even know

that all around you was my love

it didn't know where to go

Needs not met and yearning hearts

only know you as my mate

but on the list of all your cares

I couldn't even rate

If we don't make it; just know you're the one

I chose to share with you, my heart

your mistakes you made are yours alone

you made yourself your only goal

I'm guilty; it's true

but what of, we disagree

if there's sin in loving you

then yes, you can blame me

To you; I've given my everything

the sad part you don't even know

that all around you; was my love

it didn't know where to go

I will never hold you in contempt

if you can respect me in your heart

I know that you made every attempt

that our souls would never part

I will always wish the best for you

and if there's ever anything I can do

please call on me, don't be too proud

two people who love should keep that ground

I'm guilty; it's true

but what of, we disagree

if there's sin in loving you

then yes, you can blame me

To you; I've given my everything

the sad part, you don't even know

that all around you was my love

it didn't know where to go
