I’m Back Baby

A Spark Becomes A Flame

By Earl W. PearlPublished 2 years ago Updated 2 years ago 1 min read

All my writings, all my works

Before today, were crap

Can’t see the reason, nor the perks

“Disinterest” sprung a trap

Every poem I ever wrote

Failed to hit its mark

Greater works you all can quote

But please, just hold the snark

I’m writing now this final piece

Just emptying the tank

Killing off in sweet release

Loose stanza’s in my “bank”

Many poems have gone berserk

Negligence, I think

Of all the lines I tried to work

Poetically, some stink

Quickly I began to climb

Rhymes were coming hot

Somehow I lose all track of time

Though time is all I’ve got

Undoubtedly around this part

Vigor’s in decline

Wondering just when I’ll start

X-ing out each line

Yet, just this once I didn’t flop

“Zeal” is back on top
