I'm Always Too Late

To save someone from sorrow

By UsamaPublished 8 months ago 1 min read

I’m always too late in doing everything—

Be it something important to say,

Or a promise I needed to keep.

To call out to someone,

To bring them back with a word...

I’m always too late.

When help is needed,

When a friend needs comfort or strength,

Or when I’m meant to walk long-lost paths to meet someone—

I’m always too late.

To remember someone,

Or even to forget them…

To let my heart wander with the changing seasons—

I’m always too late.

To save someone from sorrow

Before death takes them away,

To tell them the truth

They never got to know…

I’m always… just too late.
