I Love Lamp, an Ode.

An ordinary lamp, so plain and small, a simple thing, no great grandeur at all.

Yet cast its light upon the wall, and see the shadows dance and crawl.

It sits there quietly, unassuming. A source of unlimited light, but nothing looming.

No glory, no glamour, no big sounds booming. It’s just a regular old lamp, unabated and blooming.

It's there when night comes like a shroud, and darkness crawls in like a crowd. The darkness points it’s shadowy fingers, un-abound.

But with a click or a click of your finger , it shines so bright and really makes you proud. For you, it’s more then a beacon that could brighten the blackest cloud.

I love lamp, pure and simple. When I turn it on and look in the mirror, I can finally pop my pimple.

I love lamp so much it hurts. I run to my friends house and “I love lamp,” out my out blurts.

I yell and I cry, I give my lamp a hug. I feel like a real bad ass thug.

My lamp is special it means a lot to me. When I get up at night to use the toilet, it lets me see so I can go pee.

Oh, lamp, some may think you’re ordinary. To me, your light is truly and genuinely extraordinary.

I get down on one knee and propose to you at night. My friends think I’m silly, but I can help it if our love shines bright.

You bring warmth and comfort into my life. This is so contrary to the cold dark solitary feeling of strife. I don’t know what I’d do without you, I love it when we snuggle and do not rue.

So lets sing praises for our love from the earth to the sky, for you are so much more than meets the eye.

You light my my way, and with all your work you don’t even once sigh. Oh ordinary lamp, your my special love, my ally.
