I live in a world

I live in a world where some people would rather harm others BECAUSE they were harmed,

Instead of loving others BECAUSE they were harmed.

I live in a world where some people would rather allow someone to hurt them than be alone.

People here don’t want to make love, they’d rather bone.

I’m around people who don’t know how to love,

Because they won’t put their happiness above.

I’m around people who think doing the “right thing” means to make others happy;

When really it means to make yourself happy.

At least that’s what it means to me.

I’ve realized I’m just here to be.

I see unhealed individuals all around me.

They think I can help them become free.

The only thing I can do for them is be.

When I dance, they see me.

When I laugh, they hear me.

When I sing, they hear me.

I’m goofy,

I’m funny,

I’m living in my authenticity.

Anyone and anything I’ve ever experienced I love.

I may not have been this way forever,

But I have changed for the better.

I know the rest of the people around me can heal,

When they’re ready to feel.

It’s hard to be vulnerable,

It’s hard to be emotionally available.

It’s hard to love,

It’s hard to put your own needs above.

Just because something is hard doesn’t mean it’s not worth doing.

Accept the love the world is bringing;

This means any time you laugh,

Any time you smile,

Any time you feel some type of passion,

You better feel it.

Enjoy everything great surrounding your life,

Ignore anything that brings you down.

This is coming from a person who WANTED to die,

But instead I chose to fly.
