I Live For Dreams of You

I wait all day long for the sun to go down

For the light to subdue, go dark and quiet

So I can lay my head down

And go to sleep

Clutching a pillow enclosed in

One of your old t-shirts

Imagining it is you enfolded in my arms

While I surrender to the memories of our love

And I pray ….

I pray….

I pray....

I pray for God to release your heavenly soul

For just a few hours

So you can haunt my dreams

And we can love each other

So sublime and holy

Together again for just a little while

I can relive memories

And still feel your warm touch and loving heart

I live for dreams of you
