Poetry Punches for Pennies - A Weeklong of Poetic Prompts (#3)
June 25: Pollen Prophecy Almanac - Develop a complete system for reading futures in pollen patterns. Include different types of pollen and their prophetic meanings. Use both botanical and divinatory terminology. Consider how natural cycles predict personal ones. End with a particularly significant pollen reading. - Daily Poetry Writing Prompts 2025
Doubt fills cups faster than one can pour
A lacquered liquid that tastes sweet yet packs a punch
Does it matter if the glass is half full or half empty if you at least get something to drink?
And how does it slip-slide down your rubbed-raw throat?
Does it feel the gaps and make you full?
Or burn bigger and brighter holes?
When you gasp, wheeze, hack away, do you release the other half of your out there?
Parts of you coating surface like gently swayed pollen on petals
Do you lend your essence to a cycle of life, or disease
Are your insides too reflecting of the outside, or do you keep them better hidden
Does your breath breathe ornamentation, or seek to destroy its environment instead
What do you hold in the tickle in your throat
Is it a scratch at deeper surface or a swelling of existence
Yet as each inhale leads to exhale you are both half full and half empty
A contradiction as great as you're presence in this reality
As seasonal as the (re)jubilation of a tree
Sway, release, lend yourself to more than you are
For you are allowed to be a part of something greater than you can comprehend

Y'all, these poetry prompts are tricky. Have any of you tried them? Each one has been real unique challenge. Gratitude.
I will be writing each poem on the correlating day but posting it on the following one. You can read more about these shenanigans below.
