Love Letter to the Unseen
Poetry Punches for Pennies - A Weeklong of Poetic Prompts (#2)
June 24: The Atlas of Invisible Geography - Document the work of someone who can see and map emotional terrain. Include detailed cartographic symbols for different feelings. Use traditional map-making terminology. Consider how emotional landscapes shift over time. End with discovering an uncharted emotional territory. - Daily Poetry Writing Prompts 2025
Tracing your topography is an exercise in patience and acceptance
Knowing that goosebumps and peaking nips are nothing compared to the ripple beneath your skin
Where tectonic plates shift unpredictably, while panic and self-doubt alter terrain more than any seismologist would ever be able to track
I track your craters and your hilltops
The curve of your hip dips into breathtaking landscape
I trail gently, purposefully across you
Know where pressure points can cause rumbles and where they can release life in a gasp of breath
Adjusting at backshores knowing rain can pop up anywhere and any time
Yet you, are a compilation of complexity and beauty
Terra firma, layers of memory like rings of tree rooted yet still waving wildly in the wind
You may bend, but though never break
Something in the roots of your ancestry, the resistance against annihilation though it may often feel like you don't know how to carry forward
Yet your voice moves me in seismic ways
Elevating me more than you may ever understand
And I will hold your downpour
Turn it into drinking wells, and water this earth
For I know you are thirsty, filled brim with desire
Hope, fear, hope
But you are not alone, and together we landmark each moment
Regardless of high waters or foreign lands
We will reach relief, stable ground,
And you will discover how much you've truly planted and grown

How's that? Gosh, these poetry prompts ain't playin. Though I must say, it's quite a learning experience, having to dig deeper and do some research. A nice activity to expand vocabulary.
Anyhow, I will be writing each poem on the correlating day but posting it on the following one. You can read more about these shenanigans below.

This poetry prompt about mapping emotions is cool. It makes you think about how feelings change like landscapes. Gonna give it a shot.
Very nice; I love how the terminology flowed *within* the poem, and wasn't splattered there like it was compulsory (even if it was the prompt). You got the puzzle pieces to work together - very vivid imagery too! Excited for more of these :D
