I Left Him

8 months of manipulation, and I finally left him

By Abigail SulfridgePublished 5 years ago 1 min read

I left him

After all these months

After all these tears

After all these holes

I breaks my heart

To hear the words

Off to the bridge I go

But he’s alive

That’s good

I left him

No more abuse

No more hurt

No more chains

I will run into the wild

A free woman

All the adrenaline

Will finally subside

Our house is now my house

Our ferret is now my ferret

Our space is now my space

He lies in a hospital bed

I lie in my bed

He had his chance

To mend his ways

But chose he did not

Chose he betrayed

Now we’re both alone

One for the better

One for the worse

But the better one

Is me

heartbreak
