I know these things to be true
It’s never true when someone says
I can stop anytime I want to
the thought of you weighs on my chest so
sometimes I think my heart might break
the mechanical part, I mean.
we never said goodbye and
I am haunted by the space I live in without you
I know no worse hell than remembering a kiss we never shared
given the chance I’d crawl back into bed with you
I can stop anytime I want to.

More than sweet words, I cherish the people who are willing to show up for me.
