I Killed You for Love

A sad Husband

In the depths of sorrow, I pen this verse,

A lament for a love that fate did curse.

Oh, my dear wife, taken too soon,

By a tragic accident on that fateful afternoon.

I called you to come, my heart so insistent,

Not knowing the toll it would take, relentless.

You were weary, my love, exhausted and drained,

But I, blinded by desire, couldn't comprehend your pain.

In the haze of the moment, I failed to see,

The weariness that weighed so heavily on thee.

I urged you to drive, to come to my side,

Unaware of the peril that would soon collide.

Oh, how I wish I could turn back time,

To undo the choices that led to this crime.

For in that fleeting moment, you closed your eyes,

And tragedy struck, tearing us apart, no goodbyes.

Guilt engulfs me, a heavy burden to bear,

Knowing that my insistence led to despair.

I see your face in every sleepless night,

Haunted by the knowledge, the pain so right.

I curse my stubbornness, my foolish pride,

For it was my plea that led to the divide.

In the echoes of silence, I hear your voice,

A gentle reminder of my ill-fated choice.

The roads we traveled, now paved with regret,

As I ponder the moments I can never forget.

Your laughter, your touch, forever etched in my mind,

Yet now I'm left in this emptiness, confined.

My love, my angel, taken too soon,

I yearn for your presence, under the moon.

I'm left to bear this burden of remorse,

A broken heart, a soul forever coarse.

May you find peace in that eternal sleep,

As I weep and mourn, my sorrows deep.

Forgive me, my love, for the pain I've caused,

In this lament, my heart forever paused.

In memories we shared, I find solace and pain,

Forever haunted by the cost of my vain.

Rest in peace, my love, in the heavens above,

In this poem, a tribute to our tragic love.
