I hope you stay angry

Words I haven't said — yet.

"But I tell you who are listening: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you." - Luke 6:27

Pray for those who hurt you

so that they may heal.

Pray for those who are angry

so that they may know peace.

Be the bigger person, turn the other cheek.

No.

I hope you stay angry.

So angry that it consumes you and leaves your insides heavy with rot.

Like a weight, let your anger crush your spirit and your mind.

Let it take over you, the way I let mine.

I want you to become so angry that it makes you lonely,

and you nearly die from the despair.

Lose all sense of compassion and desire,

let your bitterness fill the air.

I hope you stay angry to the point it drives you half-insane.

And I hope it makes you angrier still when you realize no one cares.

I won't pray for you to be unburdened,

nor will I fill the space between us with empty promises of peace.

I hope you stay angry

like you wished for me.

This was a little scary, if I'm honest, especially with the Bible quote at the beginning. I was thinking "this is going to be all forgiveness and acceptance" and then it was nothing like that at all. Red. I felt the warmth coming off this and it's scorched my eyebrows. I enjoyed the shock though. And the fire.
