I Hope You Hurt

A Poem About Heartbreak

Hi friends!

I hope you hurt a poem by Joe Henkel

I hope your life isn't perfect,

like you hoped it would b

and one day you realize you can't reach all of your dreams.

I hope a whole lot of pain will come into your life.

you find out that this world's too big to fight.

I want you to run out of gas and have no money on hand,

so you have to walk across town with an empty gas can.

I hope a girl shatters your heart on Valentine's Day.

I hope fake friends leave when you expected them to stay.

I'm wishing that you decide to buy a chocolate shake,

when you're inside your car the whole cup breaks.

you'll miss your meeting because it fell all over your lap.

but even in this mess,

I hope you find some way to laugh.

I hope that if your house burns

up you know this isn't your home

even when you're lonely you know you're not alone,

you won't forget those sad times,

they'll become lasting memories

one day you'll tell your kids stories and Inspire them to believe.

I hope everything falls apart,

but you still hold on,

that you always find a reason to sing your favorite song.

I hope there's always some kind of wonderful Beauty.

the bad times, I hope you don't get too angry.

I hope the World Turns on you and you don't even care.

when they threaten you aren't controlled by their fear.

I hope that your doubt makes you a bold believer and fighter.

that the hate won't make you bitter,

but a better friend and lover.

I know you'll figure out a crazy way to

fight hard and survive,

when everything goes insane and you're hanging on alive,

I know you'll remember that there's growth after the rain,

and you'll grow stronger and more caring because of the pain.
