You knocked softly on my window.
I woke up.
Oh, it’s only you
I went back to sleep.
You rattled the door,
I still ignored you.
You wanted to get in.
I shut you out.
I could hear you
But could not see you.
* * *
My friend the wind
Where do you come from?
Why can I not see you?
Do you feel the hurt
When I shut you out?
Do you feel the pain
When I push the door against you?
You never give up
You are persistent
You are consistent.
* * *
I feel your pain
I hear your cry
But what would you do
If I let you in?
My friend the wind
Why can I not see you?
I see your destructive power.
Is it out of fury that you destroy?
If I let you into my room
If I let you into my life
Will you spare me?
Do not destroy me.
My friend the wind
Why can I not see you?

Wind can be very powerful and do make a lot of noise at times. Love your poem, its so relatable.
