I have made a promise, I need to go

Day 8/30: A series where I write a poem every single day for 30 days.

By Maryam BatoolPublished 5 months ago β€’ 1 min read

I'm begging you, I'm on your toe

You heard me right, I need to go

.

I wanted to stay, I could have but

I have hearts to fix, open doors to shut

.

Don't wait for me, don't look so low

I didn't want to, but I need to go

.

Who doesn't yearn for a charming sight?

Who doesn't wanna look at the starry night?

.

Now leave my hand, It's almost snow

I have made a promise, I need to go

.

I thought I would walk down with you

And we'll disappear to a world that's new

.

If I tried harder, I could have, although

But, they're waiting for me, I need to go

.

Sometimes you need to sacrifice

Sometimes you leave somthing really nice

.

All the pain inside, still I did say, "NO"

I love you too, but I need to go!

.

A/N:

No, not about me. It's just a poem. Thanks for reading! :)

This was so sad, so much pain! It's amazing

  • I was able to feel the pain of choosing to do the right thing, or what feels right to them, or what they want to do. This was very profound. Loved your poem!
