I am a human, I am your friend
Day 7/30: A series where I write a poem every single day for 30 days.

I wake up to the same SUN as you
My breakfast has eggs, I know you too
I too, wear cotton, linen, wool and silk
I drink hot chocolate and dip cookies in milk
I go to school to learn English, Science and Math
We both go to college, just with a different path
I love reading books, and I like to sing
I play the UNO cards, I am a little thing
But,
Does my head scarf hurt you in the eye?
You saw me go to mosque, and you forever said BYE?
I cheered for them, for they Love their God
When I said, "I love Allah", I heard no Applaud
I pray, I eat, and I speak of my WILL
I'm a little girl, I swear, I do not k1ll!
Don't hate on me, don't break and end
I am a human, I am your friend!
.
A/N:
Being a Muslim, I've seen so much hate just for exsisting. Not in my country but Online. From the people who don't know enough. Who don't care enough.
This Peom is inspired by Belle's article. Please, make sure to read it and it'll all make sense. And make sure to leave a comment on her piece as a proof that you're not one of them and if you have any questions, you may ask her freely <3

Does it really matter to people what you eat? What do you wear? What you sing, where you live, what you do, what you read, or what your religion is? Are these things the proof of your humanity that you must show people? Really? And who are they anyway? You love Allah and your religion, do you really need to hear applause from people in return for that love? Are you going to let people's rotten mindset decide whether or not you are a human being? Ignore those people. And if you feel the need to respond, then in my opinion, that poem isn’t the right answer.
Lovely poem, Maryam, with such a deep sentiment. There is too much discrimination in the world, too much bias, and too much hate. Whichever God you worship, they must all sit there saying 'What has happened?"
There are soooo many idiots like that online. Just saying shit about things they don't understand. May you always be blessed dear ✨️❤️
