I Hate That I Still Remember

A Poem

By Angel AdagioPublished 10 months ago 1 min read

I still get the phantom feelings of your existence in my life,

the ongoing torture that is your presence in my mind forever.

I can't go a day without being reminded that you gave me a gift,

the ability to know more than I did before

and being able to use that knowledge still.

It was once a gift,

but now it is my curse I wish to the gods I could break.

You still hold me captive

I am still at your mercy.

I hate remembering you

I wish we could collectively forget everything that happened,

move onto a better life without your name attached to mine.

I’m sorry the pain is still remembered! A better person will be in your life soon and you’ll forget all about this!
