Calendula and Sunshine
Sun is the ultimate therapist

It was 9:30 a.m.
I went to the garden
and saw the calendula sleeping.
Its petals were still folded,
still in slumber,
waiting for the warmth of the sun
to gently touch them,
and whisper to wake up.
It was 11:30 a.m.
I went again
and saw it fully in bloom,
cheerful, bright yellow,
like a radiant little sun.
Soon, the honeybees would arrive,
to sip its nectar.
You see, even a flower cannot bloom
if the sun does not touch it.
And yet we are told it's evil,
that we need a chemical to block it,
hypocrite society's blatant lie,
to build empire on sickness.
Honor the sun,
the master therapist.
Step outside often
bath your skin in sunlight.
enjoy good health,
be bright, serve well,
like my garden calendula.
