I fell in love in first grade

Before I knew the word

He was sweet to me

But nothing more occurred

I fell in love in seventh grade

With a boy who didn’t know

He left me hanging by myself

Never said he had to go

I fell in love in freshman year

With my best friend who was gay

He didn’t know the way I felt

He wouldn’t feel the same

I fell in love in sophomore year

With a boy a year above me

He graduated far too soon

And left me far too early

I fell in love in junior year

And this one loved me back

But we were both not ready yet

Our love just couldn’t last

I fell in love in senior year

The summer right before

His eyes were only for my friend

I knew he loved her more

About the Creator

Sofia Peralta

I've had a passion for stories ever since kindergarten. There was something so entrancing, so alluring, about reading. I lost myself in books and found comfort in their words. Now, here I am, wanting to provide that same comfort to another.
