A Year in Love

For the lover who stayed

As leaves fall off trees

The wind starts to cool

Yet you are still here

And you have been true

The frost settles in

My world cracks apart

In all of my sorrows

You stayed in my heart

When my soul was broken

And dark and despaired

When the world around me

Seemed just so unfair

While grass again grew

You held me and cried

I remember your voice

‘Cause I couldn’t meet your eyes

Now the sun starts to set

In the heat, you’re still here

And for once in my life

I have nothing to fear

About the Creator

Sofia Peralta

I've had a passion for stories ever since kindergarten. There was something so entrancing, so alluring, about reading. I lost myself in books and found comfort in their words. Now, here I am, wanting to provide that same comfort to another.
