I DO THINK THERE'S A SQUATCH IN THESE WOODS
a poem

With this stick I knock knock knock
Banging on the wood
Three loud bangs returning back
Like you always do
I sometimes hear you howling
And running through the trees
I’ve got my camera ready
But you always just elude me
Though there was that one time
I think I found your den
The place was pretty stinky
(No offense my friend)
I’ve got trail cams set up everywhere
I’ve even got a FLIR
I’ve seen colonies of rodents
And a herd of deer
I’m searching for a footprint
A patch of fur or DNA
Just a bit more evidence
To prove I’m not insane
Yes, my family left me
And I’m residing in a van
But if you ain’t been Squatchin’
You just ain’t living man

Ha! This is a fun, quirky adventure wrapped in mystery and humor. It’s the kind of poem that makes you want to grab your own camera and head into the woods. Great job with the playful tone!
