I dare to hope, and believe.

Not it could be, but will be.

By Jordan ZunigaPublished 4 years ago 2 min read

I remember it, the beauty of brighter days, thus past.

I remember the sound of joy amidst the street corners,

The gathering of kin and friends, the happiness of good fellowship.

I remember the hope stirred in the hearts of aspiring dreamers,

Their boldness to dare, to try, to do what others had deemed, "Impossible!"

I remember the love that stirred between a man and a woman,

And the desire to fight for love to not merely persist, but flourish.

I remember a time, when we were sure of our health and good fortune,

Before plague and death came to consume the minds of others,

With fear becoming more an affliction than any ailment by itself...

Despite the shadows and rumors of plague mentioned softly throughout the blind spots of men,

Unseen, to the naked eye,

The anxious heart beat that continued for fear of what could be,

Rather than a steadfast faithfulness and hope, for what would be...

I remember a time, when the mind and heart did not bind itself to the fear of what could be,

But dared to hope for what it new would be, regardless of what had, what is, and what could happen.

So I hope, and believe.

Despite the shadows of fear and pestilence creeping in the world and in the worlds of the hearts of men,

That the heart will be bold enough to desire, to dream,

That it would push forward to not merely survive,

But to thrive and to prosper, all the more...
