The message we’re often given is that comfort
is indulgence, gluttony, or laziness.
When we think of comfort, we picture someone in a recliner,
eating a mass of junk food.
But comfort comes from the Latin word Fortis -
meaning to strengthen greatly.
To comfort is to fortify,
to steady one’s own building process.
Because what is the purpose of building,
without strengthening the foundations?
