I Can't Remember

go out and play

By Hayley FrazierPublished 5 months ago 1 min read
join the world

I need to clean the kitchen

but there is a little brown bird at the feeder, singing its song

gorgeous against the blue, cloudless sky

The oven is a mess

but more bird's have arrived, excitedly chirping

and they're bringing life to the backyard

The patio is a disaster

but the squirrels sit there chattering, happily

hiding away from the summer heat

My dog needs a bath

but she looks out the window, expectantly

she misses her friends

I miss mine, too

so we go outside

welcomed by the flashing orange and black monarchs floating on air

we find our friends in the garden

part of the world

And I can't remember what I was supposed to be doing

But it's always been this

I feel like this so accurately depicts my brain sometimes, so much to do, but then my brain decides to focus on one thing. I love the image as well!
