I can’t pretend to understand how it feels to be judged by the color of my skin,
I can’t pretend to know the path that one is forced to walk,
I can’t pretend I know how it feels to be treated like an animal for daring to breathe,
All I can do is stand by your side,
Allow my voice to join the side of right,
March for justice as I open my ears to hear,
To open my eyes to see,
I stand beside you,
I hold you close as I wipe your tears from the pain,
I can’t pretend to understand but I do care.
