Made me believe in Cinderella
Always such a charming fella
Flipped a switch, put me through hell
Made me swear not to tell
But I’m all grown up
Don’t like those shoes
I choose to
Go bare
Foot

an amazing entry in the Challenge superbly crafted
I love this...it's so honest...so cutting. Slight editorial note thing that you can totally ignore. The syllable count is slightly off cos "I'd rather" is 4. the syllablecounter.net site is a great checker. Anyway, I feel bad saying but would feel worse if I didn't!
I knew you were going to have something great for this challenge! I've said it before, but you have an amazing gift for turning desperation into inspiration! Outstanding poem, Kelli!
I like “barefoot” as a metaphor. No support, but free
We definitely don’t need Prince Charming to put our slippers on .We can live without such lying charm.
