I’m sorry
for hiding you in mirrors
for burying your fire
beneath silence.
I should’ve listened
when you whispered
through the ache.
But I see you now—
wild, worthy,
still here.
And I am learning
how to properly love
the little girl
I was, I am.
I am becoming.
