I AM TOO DAM GOOD!

A poem by Ross E F Lombardi

.

I AM TOO DAM GOOD!

By Ross E F Lombardi

.

My darkness howled in pain,

At your light,

My own stupidity

- I could not fight.

.

Despite myself,

Each sight of you would skip my heart,

Every skip of heart would also sting,

But “Us” would have been a terrible thing.

I could not be near you, only far.

- For my darkness can only diminish who you are.

.

Things kinda all happened how I suspect they would,

For the right reasons,

- Things happened the way they should.

.

But of all my regrets,

For things, I have never done.

I am proud I never wrote you this,

- It would have been simply wrong.

.

I never used THIS skill,

Even though I could,

For at romantic poetry,

- I am Too Dam Good!

.

To use these words,

Would have been unfair.

-To let you know how much I care

.

Each sunset,

Despite all my own selfish poisonous shite

End of day,

I will attempt what’s right.

.

I forever stand my ground!

This is Not an apology!

For my feelings end,

I needed to double down,

I needed a golden-clad guarantee!

.

Wrong time, Wrong place,

Wrong personality.

So very many valid reasons.

- We can never be.

Such light deserves someone gentle, and kind,

Someone peaceful, worthy.

- And who IS NOT Me!!!
