I am Purple
Soft as lilacs, vulvic deep unfolding, wet, yielding, surrendering, letting go.
I am old lady strong and wise purple.
I am royal and ecclesial purple, deserving of dignity and respect.
I am grape-wine burgundy purple, blueberry centers and saskatoons to feed the bears and birds.
I am dark and opaque purple, full of silent mystery, deep pools of reds to blues to black.
I am the end of the rainbow band offering hope and the promise of ‘never again’.
I am shade loving pansies and frivolous petunias, hardy survivors, constant bloomers.
I am grief and mourning awaiting resurrection and joy.
I am spiritual chakra purple allowing light in,
opening doors.
I am purple.
