I am
A little poem that explains who I am and where I'm from

I am from flashlights under the blankets so I can read all night
I am from the big house where my family and extended family come for family parties, and playing hide and seek until my cousins and I are 23 years old.
I am from my grandma’s whistled songs and tunes.
I am from the loud house with the tv blasting and too many dog toys all over the house.
From looking at my sister when something funny happens and she is already looking at me to knowing she’ll always be there for me when I cry.
I’m from long days going from volleyball practice to soccer practice then the kitchen table for homework.
From the grandparents who were always strong enough to make a good life for my family and the long stories they would tell us grandchildren until past our bedtime.
I am from the picture hallway to family hockey games, from family puzzle nights and occasionally some fights.
I am from the big house where my family and extended family come.
