I Am Not Here to Be Small

Taking Up Space, Owning My Power, and never Shrinking Again

I Am Not Here to Be Small

A World That No Longer Shrinks Me

I see a day where I stop saying “I’m sorry”

for the space my body takes,

for the fire in my spirit,

for the sharp edges of my mind.

I see a day where I do not hesitate

before stepping into a room,

where my voice does not waver

as I speak my truth—

where I do not shrink just to be acceptable.

I have swallowed my own words for too long.

Smiled when I wanted to scream.

Bent when I should have stood tall.

Not anymore. Not today.

I was not made to be small.

I was not made to fit inside your quiet expectations.

I was not made to be anything other than limitless.

I see a day where I no longer say,

"Someday, I will be free."

Because that day is already here.

Because I am already enough.

And I will never shrink myself again.

FAQs – People Also Ask

Why do so many of us feel the need to shrink ourselves?

Because the world taught us that being “too much” is a crime. That our ambition, our fire, our presence should fit in a neat, silent box. But we were never meant to be small.

It looks like taking up space without guilt. It looks like wearing your confidence like armor. It looks like knowing—deep in your bones—that you are worthy.
