I Am Intolerance

The Indictment

By Earl W. PearlPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

I don’t allow for different views

They only tend to light my fuse

So here’s my secret, spread the news

The “facts” I spew are just a ruse

I misdirect and then accuse

I’ll twist your words the way I choose

You’ll hate the nonsense I infuse

Yet in this way I turn the screws

I gripe and moan and sing the blues

That “hater” term I will abuse

To those of you I don’t amuse

Then “racist” too I’ll overuse

My rhetoric may not enthuse

Since simple logic I refuse

I’ll miss the point and all the cues

And skew the facts just to confuse

Since I’ll embrace unfair reviews

To me I win but never lose

But why should I care, this I muse

It’s not ME walking in your shoes

I taught the Muslims, taught the Jews

Yet feel no shame, so please excuse

I will not bend when truth ensues

Nor tolerate the proof you use
