I am a human

Who am I

By Ali Sadeek AhmedPublished about a year ago 2 min read

Who am I,

And who shall I be?

It is said of me, as I am named in the heavens, that I am the human being.

I am the human being, the one whose creation was perfected by the Merciful.

I am yesterday, today, and tomorrow, the history of all times.

I am the oppressor, I am the oppressed, in every place.

I am the worker, I am the farmer, I am the soldier, the leader, the president, and the sultan.

I am the one my Lord honored and named in a chapter of the Quran.

I am the humble servant to Allah, the one whose justice guided me and taught me to be human.

I am wisdom, I am the sign of the Creator of the universe, in every place.

I am the rational one, my mind gifted by the Merciful.

I am white, I am red, I am yellow, I am brown, I am the human being.

I labored the earth, I sailed the seas, I flew through the skies, and reached the lands and shores.

I am the one whose deeds weigh on the scales, I am the loser, and I am the winner.

I am the one who held paradise in his hands, and by my mistake, it became fire.

Oh people, awaken from illusions.

Oh people, evil comes from Satan.

Why does a human poison his brother like a snake,

Destroying him and feeling joy?

Oh people, this is cowardice,

A slave, humiliated, serving Satan,

Offering him many sacrifices.

I am the human being.

I am the sinner, I am the repentant, I am the one seeking forgiveness.

I am the one who wished to live in paradise and find delight.

And on that day, I forgot that I am mortal,

And chased after Satan’s promise,

And my mind led me astray, casting me toward the tree of Satanic eternity.

He swore to me,

Oh, how foolish I was.

I believed him, I, the mortal,

I ate from it, oh how I regret it.

I am the human being.

And by that, I was cast out of paradise—I am Adam, with Eve,

And Satan was the third among us.

But my Lord is Great and Generous.

He bestowed good upon me and said, “The matter remains easy.

You can repent again and return to My paradise once more.”

I am Adam, with Eve.

I am the sinner, I am the repentant before a Generous Lord.

I am the one seeking forgiveness,

And with Him, the matter remains easy.

I am the human being.

I am the worshiper, devoted to Allah.

I am the one whose Lord supports him.

And in times of distress, I call and say, “O Allah!”

My voice ascends to His heavens,

Glorifying the One True God.

And I declare, “There is no god but Allah.”

And no matter how much I repeat,

I am the human being.

I am the worshiper, I am the mortal.

I am the human being.

Whoa, Ali this piece is so deep and powerful! It's like a whole journey of being human—messing up, regretting, finding hope, and connecting with Allah. The repeated declarations of identity—I am the human being—resonate so deeply. It’s as if the piece holds a mirror to our souls, reminding us of both our weaknesses and the divine potential within us.✨ Absolutely powerful. Thank you for sharing this treasure!😊
