Hymn to Nikkal
A little poem inspired by a video I just watched about the oldest (known) song in history. Well done, YouTube algorithm.

Simple strumming
Under the peaceful dark
Stars wheel
Around the moon
The notes pluck
Little pockets
Of time
From one space to
Another
The miracle of music
We can sit under
The same stars
Hearing the same
Strumming melody
And remember
Something so simple
We are the same
And somewhere
Some imaginary goddess
(As unreal as justice)
Becomes real again
For a moment
Love finds her heart
Life lives
In the music
Just for a moment
And she smiles a
Silent benediction
Before vanishing
Again
Into time as the notes
Fade
Into the peaceful dark.
