She was like the sun, peeking through the rain,
He was the thunderstorm, buzzing with pain.
She would glow with light, even if you weren’t near,
He looked marvelous from a distance, but close instilled fear.
She would break through the clouds he swallowed her in,
and still he’d stir up again.
She was a garden, ready to bloom.
He was hurricane season, destruction and doom.
No matter where her roots took to earth,
he was ready to destroy her worth.
One day she rose in the sky, with the moon on her back.
The storm was overwhelmed by waves & could not attack.
She rose again revitalized,
knowing she was surrounded by hope,
ready for new storms that might arise.
